Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A query entered in a sponsored search tool goes directly to the third-party company that operates it. That provider processes the name or case number and returns its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Page requests can automatically provide standard technical information about a visit:
- Page-view times and visit duration
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- Pages viewed during the visit
- Referring website, when one is supplied
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure page traffic and visitor navigation. Analytics services combine that activity into broader usage reports. Browser settings can block cookies, though parts of the website may then behave differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating, securing, and improving website performance
- Routing a query to the selected search partner
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Measuring which resources visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Davis County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of case histories or personal court-record information. It explains how public Davis County records may be found through Xchange, Utah District and Justice Courts, and the clerks that keep the original files. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports, and this private site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the sponsored search boxes. Information submitted there is subject to that provider's privacy terms, retention rules, and sharing practices rather than this policy. Review those terms before sending a query because we do not control the provider's systems.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Utah court and clerk pages, Xchange, legal-aid resources, or third-party tools. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before disclosing personal information.
Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be disclosed to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet system is completely secure, however, and the absence of a future breach cannot be guaranteed.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from a person under 18. If such data is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.
Your Data Rights
Applicable Utah privacy and consumer-protection law may provide additional rights over personal data. Utah court-record access is separately governed by Rules 4-202.02, 4-202.03, 4-202.04, 4-202.06, and 4-202.08. GRAMA applies to Utah government records but does not replace the judiciary's classification and access process. At a minimum, you can:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. Any replacement will be posted here with a new effective date, so visitors should review the current version periodically.
